
The death of San Francisco 49er Thomas Herrion in 2005, who at age 23 collapsed following an exhibition game, sent shock waves through the medical and sports communities alike. Now, new research is raising concerns regarding the heart health of football players, and asking the question-does their size predispose them to problems including sudden death?
